The Burna Boy and Wizkid vs Davido Feud

Damini Ogulu, known by his stage name “Burna Boy” rose to prominence in 2012 when he released hit single “Like to Party”. Burna Boy received international fame for his unique sound and blend of Afro fusion.  The 29 year old was nominated for the 2020 Grammy awards in 2019 for his album “African Giant” in the Best World Music Album category. He won the Best International Act at the BET awards in 2019 and became the first Nigerian to receive consecutive Grammy nominations when his album, Twice as Tall was nominated for a Grammy award in 2020 in the same category. Burna Boy currently runs a record label, Spaceship. He is one of the biggest African artistes, as he has collaborated with many superstars from around the world. He was performed at the Coachella festival in 2019. He was also featured on Beyonce’s Lion King album alongside a host of other African stars like Wizkid, Mr Eazi and Tiwa Savage. He had a single of his own “Ja Ara E” on the album.

Ayo Balogun, better known by his stage name, Wizkid came into the limelight with his single “Holla at your Boy” in 2011. It was the lead single off his album “Superstar”. Wizkid was part of E.M.E under the guidance of Banky W. Wizkid left E.M.E after his contract with the record label expired. Wizkid floated his own label, Starboy records as he gained more fans. Wizkid received a first Grammy nomination in 2016, the same year he received wide international acclaim for his collaboration with Drake on global hit, “One Dance”.

He was featured by Beyonce on her 2019 album, “Lion King”. He featured with Beyonce and her daughter, Blue Ivy on “Brown Skin Girl”, a song that has received a Grammy nomination in 2020, giving Wizkid his second nomination. Wizkid has released 4 studio albums, Superstar, Ago, Sounds From the Other Side and Made in Lagos. He has won the most BET awards of any African artiste with 3.

David Adeleke, also known as Davido first came into the limelight with his single Dami Duro in 2011. The Osun State-born musician dropped out of school in the United States to pursue a career in music in Nigeria as a teenager.

He dropped his first studio album “Omo Baba Olowo” in 2012. He floated his own record label, Davido Music Worldwide in 2016. He currently has Mayorkun, Dremo, Peruzzi and Liya signed to the label. He has released 3 studio albums, including A Better Time in 2020. He is seen as one of the biggest African musicians currently, with hit songs with multiple superstars.

Wizkid and Burna Boy have a good relationship, and they have been photographed together multiple times. Davido on the other hand has strained relations with both artistes.

Davido recently congratulated Wizkid when he released his new album, with his tweet receiving no response from Wizkid. Davido has repeatedly stated that he had no issues with either man but that they were teaming up against him.

It was reported that Davido and Burna Boy got into a fist fight in Ghana at Twist night club, with Wizkid paying their scuffle no attention.

A lot of fans are so confident about another encounter happening between the two superstars that they are reportedly willing to stake on it if they were put on the NetBet online slots. Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido are the three biggest Nigerian artistes currently, but their differences are almost as big as their names in the industry.
